Cheryl Minichilli

NEW InsideOut Art Show Participating Artist, 2017!

“My artistic creativeness comes from my mother and my grandmother. I can remember them making a Christmas tree out of pine cones and baby food jars. It was beautiful. Every week, the neighborhood ladies and my aunt and grandmother would get together, and everyone would bring the project they were working on. What an inspiration to see all the different things being made! My young mind was like a sponge."

“I like to make functional pieces. I like to use natural materials most of all. I use leather, braided sea grass, philondendron (in some), palm inflorescence, round and flat reed, deer antler, and more. Weaving baskets relaxes and centers me.”
