Ezequiel Gonzalez

InsideOut Art Show Participating Artist since 2016

“This year I’ve decided to explore two styles of art that are outside my photorealistic comfort zone."

“My Upside Down World is an expressive painting that depicts a distant moment between my father Catarino Gonzalez, my brother Candido Jeovanny, and me. In this piece, I used acrylics because they help me build the colors quickly and build on the loose style I aimed for."

“In You, the River, and I, I used a contemporary style that focuses on the colors and their interaction on canvas. I decided to use acrylics and oils for this piece. I started developing my concept with acrylics because they dry fast, which allows me to establish the shapes and details I want. Then I completed the process with all colors, which helped me to achieve smooth transitions."

“I enjoyed the challenges in both styles of art because every brush stroke was like an enchanting dance with each piece; each one so different and unique. The process was a special interaction for me because they helped me to process stress, pain, and adversity.”
