Luis Valencia
NEW InsideOut Art Show Participating Artist, 2017!
“My practice is inspired by biblical prophesies. I interpret these prophesies by using acrylic on canvas. I do not limit myself with brushes alone, instead I use many mediums. In some of my paintings, I use dry paint to create texture. Every experience I encounter is a learning process. Through my faith and peers, I am a student of art."
“Through my art work I project my feelings and imagination to the viewer. I want to interpret the pain I see on people’s faces. In my piece Rock Bottom is a reminder to people that it’s okay to ask for help and that they are not alone. Pain and hardships are a part of life, but the essence of life itself has the opportunity to strengthen one’s path in hopes not to fall again.” Luis also contributed three (3) miniature paintings to the 2017 InsideOut Art Show – a seascape at sunset, a river falling over a cliff, and a wooden ship at sea – each one using acrylic and glaze on the back of a playing card. The popsicle-stick easels that provide stands for these tiny works of art were created by fellow artist Robert Yovanov. |
