Project Give Away

NEW InsideOut Art Show Participating Artist, 2017!

Project Give Away (PGA) is the name of a group of artists at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe, California.
PGA began and continues “as an avenue for participants to be of service, give back, make living amends, and start the healing process,” according to its founder, Jesse Rodriguez.

In short, these artists use beadwork as a spiritual practice. They connected with UrbanMission Community Partners through someone known to all of us who is one of the co-facilitators of prison-based intensive Restorative Justice circles, promoting greater accountability for harm done, deeper self-understanding of what brought those who did harm to that point (“hurt people hurt people”), and more empathy and forgiveness.
We are honored to share their work here.
