Robert Yovanov
NEW InsideOut Art Show Participating Artist, 2017!
“I started creating art when I was around 10 years old with cartooning, using stick figures with thought bubbles. While in junior high school, I found I was red and green color deficient.
“I find great joy in sharing my art with friends and others. I let the viewer’s curiosity and imagination create their own story about my work. Most recently, I have started painting with acrylic on canvas. My latest work has been frustrating due to my problem distinguishing colors. I have had some great help, and encouragement, which have helped me on this new path. “Several years ago, someone asked me whether I could make a small easel out of popsicle sticks. This was for a desktop display of a 2 ½”x3 ½” painting he had done. That was the genesis of what has been an ongoing evolution of easels comprising various designs and sizes. “These easels, along with several mini-paintings, were included in the exhibition, Through the Wall, put on by the Prison Arts Collective at CB1-G Galleries in Los Angeles, in conjunction with CSU San Bernardino, in the Spring of 2016.” |
